Natural Baby Skin Care Ideas

You may have a baby with sensitive skin. If this is the case, it is likely that your baby does not respond well to regular skin care products. Even if your baby does not have sensitive skin, you may be looking for either a cheaper alternative to expensive baby skin care products, or a natural way to cleanse your baby. Here are some ideas for natural baby skin care.

Basic Ideas

Instead of using harsh chemical cleansers, try using your own natural baby skin care items. If your baby has dry skin, instead of putting lotion on it, use olive oil. It will add oils and moisture to the skin and reduce the dryness. In addition, olive oil also helps diaper rash. This can be great if your child has reactions to other diaper rash creams. Also, instead of using baby powders that are perfumed and scented, try using one hundred percent pure cornstarch. This natural baby skin care product is better for the baby’s skin and the baby’s lungs. It is also much cheaper than most baby powders as well!

Baby Wipes

Baby wipes are products that every parent to an infant or toddler needs. However, they can be expensive, and often times even the unscented or “natural” wipes that you purchase in stores can still irritate your baby’s behind. Instead, try mixing one forth cup of olive oil or baby oil with two cups of water. Add one forth cup of baby shampoo. Make sure that you use unscented or natural baby shampoo if your child has sensitive skin. To finish your natural baby skin care baby wipes, cut a roll of paper towels in half and take out the cardboard roll in the center. Either put them in an empty baby wipes container or in a large ziploc bag. Pour the soap/oil mixture over the wipes, and now you have some natural, home made baby wipes!

Diaper Rash Cream

One of the baby items that parents most want to have a natural baby skin care item for is diaper rash cream. You may use a natural herbal skin care product instead of the diaper rash creams sold in stores, but this is also a great idea. You will need one teaspoon of mineral oil, one teaspoon of cornstarch, two teaspoons of zinc oxide ointment, and two teaspoons of antibiotic ointment. All of these should be found in your grocery store or pharmacy. To make the diaper rash cream, combine the mineral oil with the cornstarch. Stir it until it forms a paste. Next, add the zinc oxide and antibiotic ointment. Store the mixture in a tupperware container.

Organic Skin Care For Your Face

Your face is the first thing that people see when they meet you. Because of this, many women are devastated as they get older and wrinkles begin to appear on their face. However, if you start an organic skin care regimen for your face before these wrinkles appear, you will be able to fight off wrinkles for many years.

Why Your Face Wrinkles

The skin on your face is very thin, even thinner than most of the rest of the skin on your body. Because of this thinness, your facial skin is more sensitive to allergens and other irritants than any other part of your body. If you use poorly formulated skin products that are made with harsh chemicals and inferior ingredients, you can actually damage your skin. You may be using state of the art or very expensive skin cream without knowing that it is actually damaging your skin’s protective barrier. This will leave the face open and vulnerable to irritations, dryness, and early wrinkles.

What You Can Do

Instead of using these harsh chemical skin products, try using an organic skin care line. These products are as gentle as natural baby skin care, and they will not dry out, irritate, or leave your face vulnerable to premature aging. Organic skin care products are skin friendly. They are made from nurturing formulas that are specifically designed to treat your facial skin gently. In addition, organic skin care products will feed your face organic and natural substances to bring out your natural shine and glow. Organic skin care products are made with natural ingredients that come from certified organic or biodynamic sources. If you find an organic skin product you can be guaranteed that it will be made without mineral oils or other synthetic preservatives that will only harm your skin in the long run.

Why Choose Organic

With all of the above information, it may seem like a no brainer to use organic products on your face instead of other harsh chemical facial products. If you still have reservations about using organic skin care products, think about this. Organic skin products are made with things that naturally occur in our environment. Other harsh cleaners are made with unnatural chemicals that are not naturally occurring. These chemicals have not been around long enough to truly know the long term affects on your face. It is interesting that women who use expensive facial cleansers end up having just as many wrinkles as those who do not. So before you spend hundreds of dollars on expensive skin care products, buy organic instead.

Natural Skin Care Ideas

In years past, it was not unusual for a woman to sit outside all day long and suntan. Today, however, research and time has shown that this summer past time is actually extremely dangerous to your skin. While a tan may seem beautiful, constant tanning will make your skin leathery as you age, and it will increase the amount of wrinkles that you have. Even more dangerous, however, is the fact that sun exposure is definitively linked to certain skin cancers. Even today young women are obsessed with tanning beds, despite knowing the obvious risks. However, if you want to have beautiful skin well into your older years and do not want to put yourself at risk for dangerous skin cancer, try using some natural skin care ideas.

Natural Skin Care Made Easy

Natural skin care is not difficult. You do not need to invest in an organic skin care line, nor do you have to purchase expensive products. Natural skin care is simply easy ways to keep your skin safe from the sun.

The easiest way to begin your natural skin care regimen is to simply cover up when you are outside. This may seem counterproductive as you want to stay cool while outside, but it certainly is not. If you wear thin, gauzy material, you most likely will not feel a difference from when you have on short sleeves and a long sleeve shirt. However, that little bit of material will still protect your skin from the harmful ultra violet rays that the sun emits. Wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants while outside. Linen pants are perfect for staying cool and protecting your legs from the sun. In addition to long sleeves and long pants, you should also wear a sun hat while outside in the sin. Natural skin care is very important for your face if you want to avoid wrinkles and extreme aging as you get older. Simply wear a large brimmed sun hat to avoid exposing your face to the harsh sun.

In addition to when you are simply outside, you should also use natural skin care methods while at the beach. Many people go to the beach and come home with a sun burn or with extremely tanned skin. The more sun burns you get, the higher risk you have for developing skin cancer. While you do not need to wear pants in the water, try wearing a light weight long sleeve shirt over your swimsuit. There are many cute, gauzy shirts made specifically for swimming. Plus, if you have any trouble spots, you can cover them up!

So think about trying natural skin care methods while you are out in the sun!

The Importance Of Skin Care

The secret to looking and feeling youthful well into your aging years is having flawless skin. If you do not want to look years older than you truly are, you should start on some type of skin care regimen as soon as possible. Proper skin care can prevent you from having deep wrinkles or sun spots, and it can even help prevent skin cancer.

Sun Protection

One of the most important reasons to begin your skin care regimen is for protection from the sun’s harmful ultra violet rays. Natural skin care is one way to protect your skin from these harmful rays. You can wear long sleeve shirts made out of thin materials like linen, over sized hates, and either long skirts or long pants while out in the sun. This may seem a little over kill and ridiculous when you are out in the hot sun, but you will thank yourself for it years down the road when you have flawless skin thanks to your strict skin care regimen.

If you do not want to stick with natural skin care, you can opt for different skin care methods to protect yourself from harmful ultra violet rays from the sun. Sun screen and sun block are two ways to protect your skin while out in the sun. These lotions actually shield your skin from the harmful ultra violet rays and will keep you from getting sun burned. However, there are some downfalls to using sun screen or sun block as sun protection. First, if you do not apply it over every inch of your exposed skin, you could get burned. Second, if you do not apply the lotion properly, it will not work. For example, some sun blocks or sun screens must be applied at least twenty minutes before getting in the sun or in the water. Many people put the lotion on and head straight out side. Third, you must reapply the lotion periodically in order for it to work. If you cannot do the above steps when using sun lotion to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, perhaps you should think to use natural skin care methods instead.

Wrinkle Prevention

The best prevention you can have for wrinkles is adopting a skin care regimen at a young age. Once you have wrinkles, short of a cosmetic procedure there is nothing you can do about them. However, having a skin care routine well before you develop any wrinkles can help prevent wrinkles from ever forming.
