The secret to looking and feeling youthful well into your aging years is having flawless skin. If you do not want to look years older than you truly are, you should start on some type of skin care regimen as soon as possible. Proper skin care can prevent you from having deep wrinkles or sun spots, and it can even help prevent skin cancer.
Sun Protection
One of the most important reasons to begin your skin care regimen is for protection from the sun’s harmful ultra violet rays. Natural skin care is one way to protect your skin from these harmful rays. You can wear long sleeve shirts made out of thin materials like linen, over sized hates, and either long skirts or long pants while out in the sun. This may seem a little over kill and ridiculous when you are out in the hot sun, but you will thank yourself for it years down the road when you have flawless skin thanks to your strict skin care regimen.
If you do not want to stick with natural skin care, you can opt for different skin care methods to protect yourself from harmful ultra violet rays from the sun. Sun screen and sun block are two ways to protect your skin while out in the sun. These lotions actually shield your skin from the harmful ultra violet rays and will keep you from getting sun burned. However, there are some downfalls to using sun screen or sun block as sun protection. First, if you do not apply it over every inch of your exposed skin, you could get burned. Second, if you do not apply the lotion properly, it will not work. For example, some sun blocks or sun screens must be applied at least twenty minutes before getting in the sun or in the water. Many people put the lotion on and head straight out side. Third, you must reapply the lotion periodically in order for it to work. If you cannot do the above steps when using sun lotion to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays, perhaps you should think to use natural skin care methods instead.
Wrinkle Prevention
The best prevention you can have for wrinkles is adopting a skin care regimen at a young age. Once you have wrinkles, short of a cosmetic procedure there is nothing you can do about them. However, having a skin care routine well before you develop any wrinkles can help prevent wrinkles from ever forming.
